Homemade Sambar Powder

- Add 1 1/2 cups of toor dal to 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 10 minutes. Add a pinch of turmeric—Cook for 5 minutes.
- In the meantime, soak a small half lemon tamarind in water in a small bowl.
- Prep and chop vegetables such as carrots, eggplants, drumsticks, onions, and tomatoes.
- Pour the tamarind water into a large kadai.
- Then add 1 tsp of jaggery/sugar, along with green chilli, salt, turmeric powder, and our sambar powder.
- Heat urad dal, mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves, and red chillies to make the tempering.
- Temper the freshly prepared sambar with the tempering.
The most delicious and nutritious sambar is now ready to serve!
